Meet the Farmers & Artisans
Big Bundts & More
BIG Bundts & More was launched in August 2009 specializing in sensational artisan Bundt cakes and confections. The Bundt cake began in 1950 inspired by the classic German kugelhopf mold. BIG Bundts & More captures the nostalgia of the Bundt cake blending premium flavors
for today's modern tastes. Our stylish Bundt cakes are jam-packed with tempting flavor combinations including sinful Cinnamon Streusel, decadent Cha Cha Chocolate, outrageous Orange Grand Marnier-Scented, luscious Lotta Lemon, and more. Our Great Pumpkin Bundt Cake was voted a BIG Bundt favorite and our Brownie Bundt Bites will satisfy any sweet tooth! Market menu varies weekly and special orders are welcome.

Brooks' Farm
Brooks’ Farm has been raising strawberries since 1982, and has added to its selection each year. They use black plastic ground coverings for weed control and water crops using their pond. In addition to seeing them at market, you can also pick your own produce at the farm.
Box Turtle Bakery
A bakery started in Carrboro in 2009 with a mission of locally sourced ingredients, whole grains, and hearth-baked breads. Several of my wheat varieties were grown here in Orange County and I'll continue to seek out local and regional grains along with the local eggs, dairy, fruits, and vegetables I am already using. I have both stone and metal mills and freshly grind all my flours and cracked grains. All my breads rest the dough for over 12 hours to bring out the flavor and nutrition of the whole-grain flours. Baking is done in a large masonry oven for a true hearth-bread crust and nice radiant heat for all my baked goods. Selections will vary seasonally and week-to-week, but will include hearth breads, pan breads, pitas, muffins, croissants, scones, granola, and more. --Abraham Palmer, boxturtlebakery.com

Laughing Spirit Farm
Who We Are? We are a small family farm located in the “Old Fields” of Saxapahaw, N.C. We have a website (Laughingspiritfarm.com) that can tell you a bit more about the history of our land…which was being cultivated well before the first settlers from Europe happened along. Or check us out at Laughing Spirit Farm on Facebook.
Why We grow? To feed our family-plain and simple….before we had kids-we were quite happy to eat the American norm, but after having children and understanding the well researched connections between food, learning, and chronic disease…well-we started growing our own. Since then, we have become addicted to farming and the community of customers, farmers, and supporters that have so willingly helped us out on this path.
How We Grow? Our first priority is to the soil and ecology of our land. To grow sustainably, the most fundamental aspect is the soil…next is the beneficial insects, plants, ,erosion controls, etc...our food is a byproduct of the healthy environment on our farm. It is important to note that we will always place the health of our land over the short term welfare of a particular crop.
Thus, we use NO Synthetic Fertilizers, No Synthetic Pesticides, and no Synthetic Fungicides on our Farm.

The Farm Fairy
We started with The Farm Fairy in 2004, our goals as a family by then were to live a simple country life, eating fresh healthy food that we would produce. We always have dreamed with a small farm with chickens, bees, a big vegetable an herb garden, fruit trees and the real connection with the land that feeds us.
Today we found ourselves living a good life with the bees, soon a lot of chickens, baking the most delicious breads and other delicacies, our wildflower honey with hints of blackberries or tones of molasses depending on the location of the hives, jams and jellies from fruits in season, herbs, and last but not least a very deep relationship with our friends and customers who enjoy our products as much as we do.Visit their website.
